Join us as we shake things up this spring with the marvelous new Maracas song collection! We'll sing and dance to over 20 new songs including the American children’s song, "Ha Ha This a-Way" made famous by legendary blues guitarist Huddle Ledbetter (aka "Lead Belly"), the enchantingly rhythmic "Al citrón," based on a traditional Latin American children's game, and the little bopper "'Bout My Friends," sure to have everyone dancing to its funky blues. In addition to our weekly classes, your tuition includes recordings and materials you can use at home, including a beautiful illustrated songbook, access to the songs through the Music Together app and special online resources, such as music notation for our full collection, and more! Rhythm Kids^® (Ages 5-8)

Apr 2 - Jun 6 (10-weeks)

Join us this spring as we jump into the new Jaguar song collection, designed especially for kids ages 5-8. The Jaguar collection includes drumming patterns played in Bomba music from Puerto Rico, an interplay where the drummer attempts to follow the dancer's movements. We'll explore the interaction between drumming and movement ourselves with the song "Bailen niños." We'll sing, dance, and drum along to the lively patterns of "Ayiko, Ayiko," a welcome song from Southern Ghana. And with "Ala Dal’ona," we'll sing, move, and explore the unique 6-beat phrase of this Lebanese folk song. Best of all, we'll get to experience the joys of being a "Jaguar in the Jungle"! All 20 songs in this collection have been chosen and arranged specifically to support your child's music development. Tuition includes our song collection recordings, songbook, and access to special drumming videos for practice at home.

This class requires a small (roughly 9" x 18") djembe drum to play in class and at home. If you don't have one already, when you register we will give you information about retailers that offer special discounts to our Rhythm Kids^® families. You can expect to pay around $100 for a good quality small drum, it will sound fantastic and last a long time -- they're also great for sing-alongs, drum circles, and jam sessions of all types!
