Join us this summer for the family favorite Kazoo song collection, featuring the Music Together classic "Me, You, and We," plus favorites like "See the Pony Galloping" and the Spanish folksong "Tingalayo." We'll have fun dramatizing the nursery rhyme "Old Kind Cole" and singing about your favorite foods in "Apples and Cherries." In addition to our weekly classes, your tuition includes recordings and materials you can use at home, including a beautiful illustrated songbook, access to the songs through the Music Together app and special online resources, such as music notation for our full collection, and more! Music Together^® Class Schedule

Rhythm Kids^® (Ages 5-8)

July 16 - Aug 20 (6-weeks)

Join us this summer as we jump into the new Tree Frog song collection, designed especially for kids ages 5-8. This semester, your child will learn to drum, sing, move to new rhythms, work in ensembles, conduct, improvise, and play dynamic music games that put the beat in our bodies! The Tree Frog collection is based on energetic triple-meter rhythms inspired by Japanese Taiko drumming. We'll explore these patterns in "Suzume Odori" (Sparrow Dance), as we adapt the intricate steps danced in festivals throughout Japan. We'll sing "Canta Coquí" (Singing Frog) which uses two distinct song phrases that evoke the abundant Puerto Rican tree frogs singing and hopping everywhere! We'll celebrate the beautiful rivers and mountains of Japan in "Tree Frog Song," while learning a delightful Japanese hand-clapping game. And "Tree Frog Night" will give us a chance to experience a night in the life of a tree frog! All 20 songs in this collection have been chosen and arranged specifically to support your child's music development. Tuition includes our song collection recordings, songbook, and access to special drumming videos for practice at home.

This class requires a small (roughly 9" x 18") djembe drum to play in class and at home. If you don't have one already, when you register we will give you information about retailers that offer special discounts to our Rhythm Kids^® families. You can expect to pay around $100 for a good quality small drum, it will sound fantastic and last a long time -- they're also great for sing-alongs, drum circles, and jam sessions of all types!
